Reversed Meditation

This work can be considered the first electroacoustic work to use ambient, experimental techniques, DIY instruments and field recordings and tapes. Much of the creative material for this work was created by recording family gatherings and going through old video archives. The ambient part was created by stretching various samples of recorded instruments such as piano, voice and percussion, as well as several field recordings made in the vicinity of the Ignalina nuclear power plant in Lithuania. The composition of the work is absolutely symmetrical. The two movements share exactly the same foot. In fact, the second movement is identical to the first, but played in reverse. The whole concept is based on a failed attempt at meditation, which the composer has experienced on several occasions (especially during quarantine). This experience could be described in words as an uncomfortable silence, generating a plethora of memories that tend to be experienced in reverse: starting with the newer ones and working backwards until the consciousness reaches the earlier ones.N: We don't know how much the medication helped, how much was more subconscious work...A: But you know, the main thing is that the subconscious is completely out of control... For example, I can't control it. Completely.N: In this case you don't need anything really, just some lexotonil. It frees you from anxiety, and anxiety is the main cause of your situation.... The anxiety is the root cause of your anxiety.
